A small mix-up in my calendar meant we had to pull up stakes in the late afternoon on Day 7 instead of in the morning of Day 8. Fortunately, the drive from Arches to Bryce was short enough that we arrived at our next RV park in the waning hours of daylight.
We took the day off and enjoyed some “Me Time” in our own ways. Adam, Evan, and Ryan played checkers and ping pong in the Riverside Ranch’s community room. I caught up on laundry where previous folks had left books to take as they pleased. I picked up Cry Dance by Kirk Mitchell, started reading, and found myself caught up in a crime thriller set in the very lands I was visiting.
The next day, we headed into Bryce Canyon to hike the 1-2 mile Canyon Rim Trail from Bryce Point to Inspiration Point. It was hot and windy, but the walk was made lovelier by the shade of the trees along the way.
Enough words now . . .
