Well, this day represents the beginning of the end of our trip. We pack up Maureen, our trusted Irish RV packhorse, for the final RV component of our trip. There are feelings being felt.
After all that we’d seen and done, it’s still not enough. I think we would keep going (but not like Thelma and Louise keep going) if we could in spite of the close quarters. Or maybe because of them. The experiences have been that extraordinary, that long lasting. Three words to you now:
Go. Just go.

We’re heading from Felton, California to Reno, Nevada: about 270 miles. That’s a short stretch compared with the days ahead. All I can say is “ugh.”
We say “goodbye and be well” to Chris and Barbara Murray. Thank you for the love, the kindnesses, the space to stretch, and the facilities to do laundry (among so many other things!)

May your quail continue to be entertaining, hungry and plentiful!
The California and Oregon wildfires grew in number, size, intensity, disaster scope, and smoke dispersal during our trip. I mean, it’s hard to see, let alone breathe. Spare a thought.

But first . . . for everyone’s amusement:

We arrived at the Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort in Verdi, Nevada in the late afternoon. Because we’re RV-ing for several consecutive days, we unpacked as little as possible, which means I’ve shifted away from cooking. Totes fine with me.
