Day 13: Tuesday, August 10, 2021

One piece of advice Adam and I heard repeatedly about Sequoia National Park is:

YOU DO NOT DRIVE AN RV INTO SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK.

We can independently confirm this because getting up to the park entrance is–quite literally–one switchback after another with mountain on one side and vertical drop-offs on the other. Ryan, ever the comedian with a sincerely dark streak to it said in the voice of a tour guide, “And on your right is certain death.”

Cool.

Pictures do not capture just how ridiculous this entrance road is, so, let me see if I can describe it. You know what those flat, uncooked packs of Ramen noodles look like, right? (Yes, you do; don’t lie; nobody’s judging.) Anyway, the road map on our dashboard display looked exactly like uncooked Ramen.

Totally worth it, of course, but damn, that was way more scary than the Zion-Mt. Carmel tunnel. Daylight is way more terrifying.
