Day 17: Saturday, August 14, 2021

Posted on August 22, 2021October 8, 2025 by admin

This was an adventure day for us.

My Uncle Chris took us to the Seymour Marine Discovery Center. The boys participated in a scavenger hunt to locate the flora and fauna outside the museum building, which is off limits unless you want to complete a five-page (no, not even kidding) Covid-19 affidavit. Umm . . . we’ll find another place to pee, thank you.

  • Sea urchins
  • Also sea urchins
  • See sea star–HA! Sea what I did there?
    I’ll show myself out now.

Break for lunch at West End Tap & Kitchen in Santa Cruz, California. Order the Charred Shishito Peppers appetizer!

  • Love my unca unca.
  • Chris showing off his best asset.
  • Just kidding, his best asset is his curly moustache.

Surfing safari

A really good set rolled in for the surfers as we watched from above. Now you can watch below!

We made a brief stop at the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, which is–I swear–the smallest museum in the world.

I dare you to find a smaller museum: go on!

See the parked, standard size bicycle? Yeah, that’s how tiny this museum is. But it’s HUGELY interesting.
